About us

Patients deserve the same visibility that lobbyists have always had

We're working on the early warning system for patient safety, which will let you act before votes are cast, not after.

Our mission

Making healthcare policy visible to the people it affects

Every year, decisions are made in state legislatures that determine how hospitals operate, how doctors are disciplined, and how transparent billing must be.

Most patients never know until it's too late. We exist to change that—surfacing every bill and grassroots campaign that touches patient safety, filtering out the noise, and giving you clear action steps.

"Information without action is just noise. We tell you exactly what you can do—and when."
— Our founding principle

Why we built this

The right information at the right time changes everything

Epieme began with one story of preventable harm—and the frustrating realization that the public is often expected to engage after decisions are already moving.

In Maine, as a teenager, I watched my mother, pediatric critical care physician Dr. Anne Yered, raise patient-safety concerns and then face retaliation.

I did what families often do: I pulled public records, built a spreadsheet, and launched a petition to Rep. Jared Golden asking for an investigation into safety conditions at our local hospital.

The process itself became the problem when information was spread out across committee pages, it was hard to keep track of timelines, and it felt like you needed insider infrastructure to take part.

Building the tool I wished existed

Epieme makes patient-safety policy legible and timely—so the people who need it most can finally act on it.

The right moment Speak before the window closes

Patient safety should be shaped in the open—
with the people most affected in the room.

The reason Epieme exists
The Reality

Lobbyists have teams.

Patients have Google.

Families learn about bills after they've passed
Hearing deadlines missed by hours
50 state websites. No way to filter.
Industry testimony dominates because they knew when to show up

Built to be verified

Advocacy only works when it’s credible. We keep this project source-first, transparent about what’s known, and careful about what’s inferred.

Primary sources

Every alert points you to the official page, agenda, or document so you can verify fast.

Criteria-first

We focus on patient-safety signals (hearings, deadlines, votes) instead of hot takes or speculation.

Clear uncertainty

When something is unclear, we keep language time-bound and source-backed instead of overclaiming.

Non-partisan

Patient safety isn’t political. We track across parties and present the same facts either way.

How we work

One mission. Relentless focus.

Patient-first, always

Every feature, every alert, every design decision is filtered through one question: Does this help a patient, family member, or advocate take meaningful action?

We're working on the early warning system for patient safety, which will let you act before votes are cast, not after.

Speed matters

Legislative windows close fast. We scan, classify, and surface bills within hours—not weeks.

Real-time

Clarity over noise

AI filters thousands of bills down to what actually impacts patient safety. No spam, no fluff.
