Support the mission

We track legislation so you
don't have to. Help us keep going.

The Patient Safety Radar is free for everyone—patients, families, clinicians, and advocates. No subscriptions, no paywalls, no corporate sponsors telling us what to cover. That independence has a cost, and we cover it through people like you.

Where your money goes

We're a small team running on volunteer time and real infrastructure costs. Here's the honest breakdown:

LegiScan API access (all 50 states) $200/mo
Hosting & database $50/mo
Email infrastructure $30/mo
Domain & security $20/mo

Total: ~$300/month to keep the lights on. Everything beyond that goes toward new features and expanding coverage.

Common questions

Not yet. We're currently operating as an independent project. We're exploring 501(c)(3) status for the future, but right now contributions are not tax-deductible. We'll update this page if that changes.
Epieme is an independent project that started at Johns Hopkins University. We're a small team of volunteers who believe patient safety information should be accessible to everyone, not just well-funded lobbying groups.
Yes, anytime. Monthly supporters can cancel through the link in their confirmation email, or by emailing support@epieme.org. No questions asked.
Independence matters. Healthcare legislation affects the same companies that would want to advertise here. Taking their money—even indirectly—could compromise our ability to cover bills that affect their interests. We'd rather be funded by the people we serve.

Patient safety shouldn't depend on who has the best lobbyist. We're here to level the playing field.
